1. Up to 12 hours of protection
Menstrual cups are (usually) made from medical grade silicone, without chemicals. Meaning they do not cause any irritation. It is therefore safe to wear the cup for up to 12 hours. Depending on your period, you may have to empty the cup more often, but on light days you don't have to worry about it all day.
2. Lasts for years (sustainable)
Buying a box of tampons or sanitary pads every month is a thing of the past. Menstrual cups last for years. It not only saves you the purchase of thousands of tampons and/or sanitary pads, but also cuts down your waste to a minimum. Did you know that all the tampons you've ever used still exist? A much more environmentally friendly alternative, those cups.
3. No irritations and allergic reactions
As we wrote earlier, most menstrual cups are made of medical grade silicone and contain no chemicals. They therefore do not cause irritations or an allergic reaction. Tampons, on the other hand, contain all kinds of chemicals such as dioxins (related to PID and endometriosis), pesticide residues, bleaches, furans and fragrances and can cause a lot of irritation.
Tampons also dry out the vagina. In addition to the menstrual blood, they absorb all other fluids. You may recognize it.. on the last days of your period it becomes more and more difficult to insert or remove a tampon.
4. Hygienic
You might think that menstrual cups are less hygienic than tampons because you insert the cup a little deeper… the opposite is true! Because the cup sucks vacuum, no oxygen can get to it. Not only does this mean that no bacteria can get in, it also means that there are no unpleasant odors. The cup is completely sealed until you remove the cup and clean it.
It is of course important to always wash your hands before inserting or removing the cup.
5. Comfortable
All menstrual cups are different. One is firmer than the other and the shape and stem also vary. It's a matter of trying to see which cup is most comfortable for you. Once you've found the cup that fits you best, you shouldn't feel it and it won't leak.
6. Total freedom
You can do anything with menstrual cups! Swimming, sleeping, jumping, dancing. Even yoga or gymnastics is no problem. If you have inserted the cup correctly, the chance that it will leak is nil.

7. Different sizes at Practicups
Because it is often difficult to determine from a distance which size is best for you, we will send you both sizes of menstrual cups in one box:
- Size 1: can collect 25 ml of blood
- Size 2: can collect 30ml of blood
It mainly depends on the intensity of your period which cup is best for you. The diameter of the two cups differs very little. Therefore, most women will fit both sizes unless there are gynecological issues (such as a prolapse of the uterus).
